Before the Miami FC: a Miami native, Evers spent two seasons with the Jacksonville Armada after graduating from the University of Central Florida. After missing his freshman season with UCF, Evers would go on to make 38 starts for the Golden Knights, making 146 saves and led the team to multiple NCAA Championship Tournament appearances. Evers also had a strong youth career, coming up through the Kendall Soccer Coalition and playing with Gulliver Prep. He helped Gulliver Prep take home the 2006 state championship. While between the posts, the Kendall Soccer Coalition would take home the 2008 Disney Showcase title and two Florida State Cup in 2007 and 2008.
