BIO: De Jong, 29, is a left-sided player who can play as a fullback or as a midfielder. Fans will best know de Jong from the Canadian Men’s National team where he has been capped on 42 occasions and continues to help their pursuit to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup alongside now Fury FC teammate Julian de Guzman.
A dual citizen of Canada and the Netherlands, De Jong developed in the PSV Eindhoven youth academy for eight years before turning pro in 2005 with Dutch side Helmond Sport and later moved to Roda JC. After moving to Germany to join FC Augsburg in 2010, De Jong helped them win promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in club history. After five seasons in Germany, the Newmarket, Ontario native moved back across the Atlantic to join MLS side Sporting KC for the 2015 campaign.
