Starikov is a striker who began playing in the USL Premier Development League in 2008 at IMG Academy Bradenton, scoring five goals for the club before moving to Russia’s elite, Zenit Saint Petersburg. Staying in the Russian Premier League, he then went on loan to Tom Tomsk and Rostov, where he scored four goals between the two clubs.
Starikov joins the Cosmos after playing last season in the Ukrainian Premier League for Chornomorets Odesa, having 10 appearances and netting 2 goals for the club. The striker has already contributed to the New York Cosmos during preseason in their Dominican Republic tour, where he scored twice and added two assists in three matches.
