New Zealand international Craig Henderson made his return to the U.S. soccer scene by signing with Indy Eleven on February 15, 2017.

The 29-year-old first came to the USA to attend Dartmouth University from 2006-09, a stint that included an All-Ivy League performance in 2008.

The versatile Henderson has played every role in the midfield during a professional career that, until coming to Indy, has taken place entirely in Scandinavia - most recently with Swedish second division (Superettan) squad GAIS in 2016 (19 games). He also crossed paths with ex-U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley while in Norway with first division (Eliteserien) squad Stabaek in 2014.

In all, Henderson has bagged nine goals in his 69 first team appearances in Sweden (GAIS and Mjallby AIF) and Norway (Stabaek and Mjondalen IF) since 2012.

Additionally, Henderson represented his native New Zealand at all age groups, including earning two senior “caps” late in 2013, one of which came against Mexico in the home leg of the Kiwis' World Cup Qualifier “playoff” series. He also helped the New Zealand Under-23 MNT qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and started all three matches during the group stage of the Summer Games, including a 1-1 draw against the host country in their opening contest.
