Indy Eleven adds further senior team experience to the back line with the addition of defender Anthony Manning on March 9.

Attending Saint Louis University for all four years (2011-2015), the Texan came into school after claiming district MVP honors at Mesquite High School, helping lead his side to a district championship. In his first season as a Billiken, the defender started all 17 matches and played every minute in a double-overtime victory of then-No. 10 Notre Dame. As a sophomore, he again started in every match (21 gms) and earned first-team All-Region (NSCAA) honors as part of a back line that tied for first in the league with nine shutouts. Manning's plaudits continued to pile up in his junior and senior seasons when he was named Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year for two straight seasons while also picking up first-team All-Conference nods. He wrapped up his senior season scoring five goals and notching two assists while again helping his team lead the league with 11 shutouts.

Manning was selected in the third round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Portland Timbers. Splitting time between the Timbers and Timbers II, the towering center back featured in over 15 games on loan for Timbers II between the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2016, Manning registered 180 minutes in two games on loan with Portland Timbers II, including 90 minutes against 2017 Indy Eleven preseason opponent Swope Park Rangers, on the season.
