In your own write

Are you a writer just waiting to be discovered?    Or do you already write about soccer and want to reach a new audience?  If you are looking for a platform for your work then ‘In Your Own Write’ could be for you.

Every Tuesday we are giving fans and budding soccer writers in the United States and Canada an opportunity to have a story you write featured on the NASL.com website.

Pick a topic that relates to the NASL, or American soccer in general with a tie to our league, and get writing.  Submit a story of between 500 and 1000 words to by using this entry form and every Tuesday, we’ll select one submission to appear on NASL.com.

Don’t be disheartened if your story is not the first one posted.  Every Tuesday we will post a new feature and want to receive ongoing new content as the year progresses.
Every month we will ask fans to vote on social media to determine which of that month’s features was the best and will send the winning writer a NASL prize.

So what should you write about?

Well, the NASL for starters, but there are countless potential topics.  Perhaps you have a strong opinion about the U.S. soccer landscape, or want to write about a particular NASL player or team.  Or you have some thoughts on the U.S. Men’s National Team, the FIFA World Cup, or some of soccer’s leagues around the world.

Tie the story into the NASL if you can of course, but we’re open to posting good-quality features if they land in our inbox.  You might want to share a great experience you had at a NASL game, fun memories of seasons gone by, the initiatives your local NASL team undertake in the local community, or your opinions on future expansion.

Keep the content clean and objective, and be sure to observe the first rule of journalism – check your facts before you write.  Oh, no libel or plagiarizing someone else’s work.

So what are you waiting for?  We look forward to hearing what you have to say.
