Following the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma throughout Florida, the Caribbean and neighboring states and countries, The Miami FC Foundation has pledged $20,000 to the Hurricane Relief Fund at The Miami Foundation to support local relief efforts.
The Hurricane Relief Fund at The Miami Foundation will help support recovery and rebuilding efforts driven by organizations working on the ground. Learn more about the Fund at www.MiamiFoundation.org/relief.
“Since day one, The Miami FC and our owner Riccardo Silva have promised to be a team of the community,” Miami CEO Sean Flynn said. “Now, more than ever, our community needs us, and we are going to do everything we can to help. As an organization, we will invest our time, effort, and resources in order to get our city back on its feet."
In addition to the donation from The Miami FC Foundation, Miami FC executives and staff will be assisting in local relief efforts through its Community Keepers volunteer program.
“Miami is an incredibly resilient community because in tough times, we unite to help those who need it most,” said Javier Alberto Soto, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “We are so grateful that The Miami FC will join the local residents and organizations ensuring our region recovers – and rebuilds – after this devastating storm.”
This Saturday’s Miami FC home match against the San Francisco Deltas was recently postponed due to circumstances stemming from Hurricane Irma.
