TEAM OF THE WEEK | Spring Season Week 13

Indy Eleven had a heavy presence on the Team of the Week after recording its first victory

Indy Eleven earned its first victory, knocking off North Carolina FC, and several players were rewarded for it with a spot on the Team of the Week. Miami FC, after a shining display against Jacksonville Armada FC, had several players recognized as well.

The full list of top performers from Week 13 is below:  

GK: Jon Busch (Indy Eleven) – The veteran made six saves en route to keeping a clean sheet as Indy Eleven earned its first victory of the year defeating North Carolina FC, 2-0.

DEF: Ryan Richter (New York Cosmos) – The full back helped the Cosmos defeat Puerto Rico FC, 4-2, winning both of this tackles and three duels. He also made three clearances.

DEF: Mason Trafford (Miami FC) – The defender played a role in Miami dominating possession against Jacksonville Armada FC, completing 90 of his 96 passes in the 4-0 win. He also made two clearances and two interceptions.

DEF: Daniel Keller (Indy Eleven) – He made nine clearances and four interceptions in Indy’s shutout win.

DEF: Nemanja Vukovic (Indy Eleven) – The full back made three clearances and won two duels in Indy’s victory.

MID: Ben Speas (Indy Eleven) – The midfielder closed out Indy’s victory with the second goal of the game against North Carolina FC. He was also involved in the lead up to Indy’s first.

MID: Jairo Puerto (Puerto Rico FC) – The Honduran international scored Puerto Rico’s first goal, his third in as many games, and then assisted on the club’s second. Puerto Rico, though, fell to the Cosmos.

MID: Andrés Flores (New York Cosmos) – The Salvadoran international had the assist on New York’s second goal in the club’s win and won nine duels and three tackles. He also made three interceptions.

MID: Ariel Martínez (Miami FC) – He had an assist and scored a goal of his own after coming on as a substitute in the win over Jacksonville.

FWD: Vincenzo Rennella (Miami FC) – The veteran forward scored a pair of goals and also added an assist to lead Miami to a big result against its Florida rival. He also created three chances and completed all 30 of his passing attempts.

FWD: Devon Sandoval (San Francisco Deltas) – The Deltas forward scored the lone goal in the contest against FC Edmonton in the 1-0 win. He also was a handful up top, winning eight duels.
