NASL players were called into action with their national teams recently, playing in World Cup qualifying, African Cup of Nations qualifying, and friendlies. Here’s how the players called up fared:
David Ochieng (New York Cosmos) – The defender came on in the 47th minute in a 2-1 loss to Sierra Leone.
Mike Lahoud (Miami FC) – He was an unused sub in Sierra Leone’s win.
Dejan Jaković (New York Cosmos) – The defender started and played all 90 minutes in 2-1 win over Curacao
Adam Straith (FC Edmonton) – He played the final 15 minutes as a substitute in Canada’s win.
Kevan George (Jacksonville Armada FC) – The midfielder started and played the full 90 in a 2-1 loss and then was an unused sub in Trinidad and Tobago’s 2-1 loss to Costa Rica.
Richie Menjivar (New York Cosmos) – The midfielder started and played the first half in El Salvador’s 3-0 loss to Ecuador in a friendly.
Irvin Herrera (New York Cosmos) – He came on in the 77th minute in El Salvador’s loss.
Jorge Rivera (Puerto Rico FC) – The young attacking player started and played 89 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Indonesia.
Pito Ramos (Puerto Rico FC) – He started and played the full 90 minutes in Puerto Rico’s 0-0 draw.
Jackie Marrero (Puerto Rico FC) – He came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute for Puerto Rico.
Michael Ramos (Puerto Rico FC) – The promising youngster played the final 10 minutes in Puerto Rico’s draw.
Jairo Puerto (Puerto Rico FC) – He started and played the full 90 minutes as well as scoring a goal in Honduras’ 2-2 draw with El Salvador.
