The New York Cosmos enter Wednesday’s clash as one of the most in-form sides in the NASL. New York is unbeaten in seven games after going on the road and earning a 1-0 win over North Carolina FC. Venezuelan international Juan Guerra, not known for his scoring, is tied for the team lead with Javi Márquez with two goals. The Cosmos have played in a host of close games this season with seven of the club’s nine contests either ending in a draw or settled by a one-goal margin.

FC Edmonton was known for its tough defending last year, but that same shutdown defense has been absent in 2017. The club recently lost to Puerto Rico FC, 3-0, and will look to rebound in New York. The Eddies played the Cosmos tough last season, winning twice and earning a draw in New York. Edmonton, though, has never earned a road win against the Cosmos in five previous attempts (3D-2L), but Wednesday night’s clash would be a good time to grab a first.
