The NASL Preseason Tour is hitting the home stretch and has returned to Florida. During the first day in the city, Miami FC prepared for Saturday’s friendly at training and the NASL digital team met midfielder Ariel Martinez during the afternoon to talk about Cuban culture.

Hard At Work

Miami FC may have a preseason contest on Saturday, but the club didn’t take it easy during Friday’s training. Mixing in some lighter drills, such as handball, Miami FC battled the sunny morning and each other on the field. To be noted, Hunter Freeman can whip the ball around in handball as good as anyone, and with accuracy.

One funny moment of the session was when the blue team tried to celebrate its victory in shooting drills with a team photo, but the other team kicked a few balls there way, in jest, to stop that notion quickly.

Cuban Culture And Street Art

Ariel met the NASL digital team for a meal and discussed Cuban culture and connecting to the vibrant Cuban community in Miami. After lunch, we headed to Wynwood – Ariel played tour guide to navigate the Miami traffic – and walked the streets to see the murals, seemingly painted on every space of every building. It was certainly a section to spend lots of time in to take in all the art.
