The NASL Preseason Tour rolled on in Indianapolis on Wednesday as the Boys in Blue continued their preparations for the 2017 NASL season at Grand Sports Park. Unfortunately, some inclement weather forced Indy Eleven inside on the day.
Hungry For More
After narrowly missing out on the NASL title in 2016, Indy enters the year with extra motivation. With many players returning from the side that claimed the Spring Season Trophy last year, the club will aim to wash the bad taste out of its mouth from the loss to the New York Cosmos. That sentiment was echoed by the club's coach, Tim Hankinson, and all of the players that were spoken to.
While the club was unable to play outside, the Boys in Blue got plenty of good work in during their time indoors.
Out And About
Two Irishmen living together in Indy? That's the situation Eamon Zayed and Colin Falvey enter into ahead of the 2017 season. The pair are incredibly close, cracking jokes, sometimes at each other's expense, as we ate lunch at one of their favorite spots in Broad Ripple. Falvey, who just started his rehab, refused any sweets at lunch to hurry back to fitness.
During our time touring the city, Falvey and Zayed headed to the Soliders' and Sailors' monument where they played with the NASL ball.
