Puerto Rico FC ended a three-game winless streak and brought the curtain down on its first season in the NASL with a 2-1 win over the Carolina RailHawks at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium on Saturday night.

Puerto Rico FC (5W-9D-8L, 24 points Fall; 5-9-8, 24 Combined) ended a more than three-game scoreless drought when Sidney Rivera headed in a free kick from Kyle Culbertson only six minutes into the game. Carolina (7-5-10, 30 Fall; 11-7-14, 40 Combined) equalized in the 32nd minute. Steven Miller’s cross from the right side was headed at the far post past Puerto Rico goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg by defender Kareem Moses.

Héctor Ramos scored his eighth goal of the season three minutes before the end of the first half as Puerto Rico grabbed back the lead in the game before the interval. He beat goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald to a loose ball, tipped it past him, and walked in alone to tuck it into the empty net.
