Rayo OKC ended a four-game losing skid with a 3-2 victory over Jacksonville Armada FC on Sunday night at Miller Stadium. It was the club’s first win under Gerard Nus.

Marvin Chávez scored his first goal of the year in sensational fashion when he struck from a free kick that curled into the top corner to open the scoring in the 25th minute. Rayo OKC (4W-4D-4L, 16 points Fall; 7-7-9, 28 Combined) struck again from a set-piece situation in the second half when Moises Hernandez sent a ball to the back post and defender Sebastian Ibeagha tapped home in the 58th minute.

Two goals would be scored in two minutes when Jacksonville (2-4-7, 10 Fall; 3-8-12, 17 Combined) defender Tyler Ruthven headed from close range following an Armada FC corner kick in the 62nd minute. Jacksonville, though, conceded an own goal when Georgios Samaras fired a shot off of Mechack Jérôme to restore the home side’s two-goal lead.

Jacksonville, though, would add a second goal when Charles Eloundou converted a penalty kick in the second minute of second-half stoppage time after Derek Gebhard was taken down in the 18-yard box.
