FC Edmonton and Miami FC both carry streaks into a Sunday afternoon affair between postseason contenders. The Eddies are unbeaten in 10 games at home, only losing once, which came back in April. Miami has been one of the strongest teams on the road in the Fall Season and step onto the pitch at Clarke Field unbeaten in six games away from home (3-3-0). Both sides also have another similarity, having two games in hand against their nearest rivals in the table. FC Edmonton (7W-3D-1L, 24 points Fall; 12-5-4, 41 Combined) has amassed points thanks to its rugged defense that, despite conceding twice in a 2-2 draw with Ottawa Fury FC last Friday, has conceded a mere 12 goals in 21 games. Forward Daryl Fordyce has also gotten hot, scoring both goals in the Eddies’ last contest.

Miami’s attack will offer a stern test for FC Edmonton’s back line, though. Miami (5-4-2, 19 Fall; 6-8-7, 26 Combined) recently defeated Puerto Rico FC, 3-0, with Jonny Steele, Dario Cvitanich, and Kwadwo Poku all getting on the scoresheet. The club’s defense has also been strong, giving up just two goals during a four-game unbeaten run, with goalkeeper Daniel Vega entering the game in Edmonton tied second in saves (73) behind FC Edmonton’s Matt VanOekel (75).
