The Carolina RailHawks have been one of the strongest sides at home in recent years and the club may just be rekindling that swagger at WakeMed Soccer Park. Carolina (4W-3D-4L, 15 points Fall; 8-5-8, 29 Combined) is unbeaten in its last seven home games and heads into the contest with Ottawa Fury FC after earning back-to-back wins in Cary. Tiyi Shipalane scored a sensational goal in a 1-0 win against Jacksonville Armada FC, but it was captain and midfielder Nazmi Albadawi that once again was the engine in midfield, providing his league-leading ninth assist. Shipalane, though, scored in a 1-0 win against Ottawa in the Spring Season at WakeMed Soccer Park.

On the back of four straight draws, Ottawa (3-4-6, 14 Fall; 5-7-11, 22 Combined) will take confidence into the second of a three-game road trip. The club was in action on Wednesday night and earned a point in a scoreless draw against Puerto Rico FC. Goalkeeper Romuald Peiser has been at his best in the past two games, making the type of saves that earned him the Golden Glove award a year ago. While Thomas Stewart was unable to put his name to the scoresheet in Puerto Rico, he has certainly been a spark, scoring twice in the last three games, with the team’s leading scorer Carl Haworth only returning to the field against Puerto Rico – he had been kept out of action for the previous three games.
