The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have been gaining momentum recently and head into a clash with Minnesota United on Wednesday night. Fort Lauderdale (3W-2D-5L, 11 points) is unbeaten in its last three games coinciding with the introduction of Amauri into the team. The veteran of Serie A has hit the ground running, scoring three goals over the last three games. Jose Angulo has also been a spark plug in the team’s last three contests, having a goal and two assists over that span. The Strikers picked up a 3-1 win over Ottawa Fury FC two weeks ago and should re well rested after not having a game last Saturday.

Minnesota is coming off the heels of a 1-1 draw with Miami FC as Lance Laing scored his first goal for the Loons on a sensational play. He got a touch after a deflection off a Miami defender’s head and looped the ball over Miami goalkeeper Daniel Vega. Minnesota (4-4-3, 16) was unable to claim sole possession of fourth place in the Fall Season Standings last Saturday, but can do so by picking up points on Wednesday. The Loons are unbeaten in their last three games and have won the last four matchups against the Strikers.
