Visitors have only lost once in last seven games

Miami FC continues to pick up points in its resurgent NASL Fall Season campaign. Alessandro Nesta’s side shook off an early injury to midfielder Jonny Steele to grind out a 0-0 draw against Ottawa Fury FC on Wednesday night at TD Place in Ontario, Canada.

With only one loss in its last seven games, Miami moved into fourth place in the Fall Season Standings, pulling even on points with Minnesota United. The road point didn’t come easy for Miami on Wednesday, as Ottawa put forth its usual strong effort in front of the TD Place faithful. Miami forward Pablo Campos had a pair of chances fall to him in the opening half, but unlike last week in Oklahoma City, the Brazilian couldn’t find the scoring touch.

Having lost Steele, a former Fury FC player, to an apparent neck injury in the 4th minute, Miami lacked the cutting edge in the midfield. In the 59th minute, however, the visitors nearly found the back of the net. Jamaican veteran Dane Richards saw his initial shot saved by Ottawa goalkeeper Marcel DeBellis, and Campos’ follow-up effort from close range was also blocked.

Ottawa was unable to crack the Miami defense, which held red-hot Fury FC midfielder Carl Haworth in check all game long.
