There's a new leader in the Fall Season and Combined Standings as FC Edmonton climbed to the top of the league on the strength of its fifth consecutive win in Week 8.

Find out how coaches reacted to the latest round of action below:

FC Edmonton coach Colin Miller on the play of goalkeeper Matt VanOekel

“It’s a critical win for us to be honest. Matt VanOekel was fantastic tonight, absolutely fantastic, and absolutely the difference here between the two [teams].”

Tampa Bay Rowdies coach Stuart Campbell on his team’s performance in the loss to FC Edmonton

“I think we actually had a good performance tonight. I liked the way we moved the ball, the way we passed it and the chances we created, but ultimately, we didn’t score. We should have at least two or three goals in front before they got their penalty kick.”

Jacksonville Armada FC interim coach Mark Lowry on his team’s defensive performance in a draw with Minnesota United

“I thought defensively we were fantastic. And it shows on the clean sheet.”

Miami FC coach Alessandro Nesta on earning a comeback win against Rayo OKC

"We lost our last match at home so tonight was very important for us. We tried adding speed and height in the second half and we won. It feels great.”

Ottawa Fury FC coach Paul Dalglish on the loss to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers

“Credit to Fort Lauderdale tonight, they were the better team. We are not happy with our performance tonight, even though we showed some good things at certain moments, we were not good enough.”
