Minnesota United ended a four-game winless streak with a 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Wednesday night at NSC Stadium.

Ben Speas put the Loons in front in the 18th minute. He intercepted an errant pass from Tampa Bay defender Walter Ramirez, and after dribbling into the box, powered his shot past Rowdies (2W-2D-5L, 8 points) goalkeeper Matt Pickens.

Speas was involved again, helping to set up Minnesota’s second goal of the night. The ball bounced to the Loons (4-2-3, 14) midfielder and he slotted the ball across the box before a sliding Aaron Pitchkolan knocked the ball into the path of Christian Ramirez. Ramirez, with an empty net, grabbed his league-leading 13th goal.

Minnesota finished the game with 10 men after Jack Blake's red card for a foul against Joe Cole.
