The final game of the Spring Season could decide which club earns silverware, but the Fort Lauderdale Strikers will certainly need their shooting boots. In order to catch the New York Cosmos, Fort Lauderdale (4W-3D-2L, 15 points) will need to win by six goals or more against FC Edmonton. The Eddies, though, have allowed multiple goals in just one league game so far this year – 2-0 to Minnesota back on April 10. Heading into the final weekend, there is no team hotter than the Strikers. Fort Lauderdale is unbeaten in its last five league affairs (4-1-0).

FC Edmonton (4-2-3, 14) should head into the game refreshed after having its bye week. The last time the side took the field, it was a 1-0 loss to Miami FC, which ended the Eddies’ chances at the Spring Season title. Edmonton now needs to turn its strong performances at the back, with Papé Diakité at the forefront, into wins by finding its scoring touch to build towards the Fall Season. With Fort Lauderdale needing to attack in order to clinch silverware, the Eddies’ counterattack should be on full display.
