Puerto Rico Football Club announced Tuesday that its first team will visit New York City to play in a preseason friendly on June 11.

The Clasico De Futbol, will see Puerto Rico FC face off against the Puerto Rican National Team at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. Johns University, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.  The match is in preparation of its inaugural season in the NASL.

Brooklyn-born Carmelo Anthony, the New York Knicks' All-Star and Puerto Rico FC's owner, will host the players in New York over the Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend. Anthony became the owner of the expansion side in June of 2015.

With New York’s strong ties to Puerto Rico and the immense popularity of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, where Anthony has been crowned the 2016 King, the friendly offers a chance to introduce one of the newest NASL clubs.

“Puerto Rico is part of my heritage and in dedication of my father’s birthplace, it’s an honor to restore professional soccer with PRFC and support youth soccer projects with the Puerto Rico Football Federation,” Anthony said. “With the Puerto Rican Day Parade being an iconic institution and America’s largest cultural celebration, we are excited for the team to participate and show our community appreciation.”
