FC Edmonton, Fury FC Aim To Kick Start Seasons With Win In Canadian Derby

Both Canadian sides are hoping to secure a first win in 2016

The Canadian Derby is set to heat up again with both sides needing a result to kick start their seasons. FC Edmonton (0W-1D-2L, 1 point) was unable to convert a late penalty to snatch a point against Tampa Bay and have now played three games without scoring a goal. Led by veteran Canadian international Nik Ledgerwood and a supporting cast of promising Canadian talent, the Eddies will look to grab early bragging rights against Ottawa.

Ottawa (0-1-2, 1) has had a tough start to the season, but can take some positives from the play of last year’s Golden Glove winner Romuald Peiser in the 1-0 loss to Carolina. With a mostly new squad, Fury FC is still in the process of jelling as a team. Forward Idan Vered and his quickness, though, should cause problems for the FC Edmonton defense.
