Another player with international pedigree has joined the ranks of the Strikers, with the club Wednesday announcing the signing of former Brazil youth national team defender Dalton Moreira Neto.

”Dalton is another player that brings high-level experience to our team,” head coach and general manager Caio Zanardi said. “He’s played in a World Cup and with some of the biggest clubs in South America. I’m very happy with the depth and quality of our center backs.”

Moreira, 25, brings a vast amount of experience to the Strikers. He started his professional career in his native Brazil with Fluminense, and was a member of the Internacional side that captured the prestigious Copa Libertadores trophy in 2010. Dalton’s trophy cabinet also includes the Recopa Sudamericana, won in 2011-12 season with Internacional.

Dalton was an integral member of the Brazil side that finished runners-up at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. He played 600 minutes across six matches in the tournament, including starting the final match alongside such players as Alex Teixeira and Douglas Costa. Dalton has already played with current Strikers defender Aurelio Saco Vértiz at Peruvian side Universitario.
