Fury FC Adds Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé On Loan

Ottawa Fury FC announced Tuesday the acquisition of midfielder Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé on loan from the Montreal Impact along with the promotion of three academy players to the first team ahead of the NASL roster freeze deadline. 

Gagnon-Laparé signed with the Montreal Impact on July 3, 2014, as the club's sixth Homegrown Player and made his MLS debut three weeks later against Real Salt Lake (July 26). The native of Sherbrooke, Quebec, has featured in seven MLS matches for the Impact in addition to featuring in 16 matches for FC Montreal, the Impact's USL PRO affiliate. He will join Fury FC on loan for the duration of the NASL season.

"Jeremy will bring depth to our midfield. It's important that we have all the necessary options for the most important month of the season," head coach Marc Dos Santos said. "We will need to be covered in every position and this is a good situation both for our club and for the player."

The 20-year old midfielder is currently on international duty with the Canadian men's U-23 Olympic squad alongside Mauro Eustaquio. The pair return to action Tuesday night in Colorado against Cuba with a chance to advance to the semifinal stage. Gagnon-Laparé will join Fury FC after the duration of the CONCACAF Olympic qualifiers. Gagnon-Laparé has also been capped five times with the senior men's national team. 

Fury FC also promoted three academy players to the first team roster. Ottawa native Emad Houache and Gatineau native Jonathan Vallée who have both come through the Impact Academy and played alongside Gagnon-Laparé with FC Montreal this past season. Also earning promotion to the first team from the academy is another Ottawa native, Jeff Addai. The midfielder recently completed his senior year at the University of South Carolina after previously playing at Spring Arbour University and has also played a season in the PDL with KW United. All three players will continue to play out their remaining PLSQ matches with the Fury FC Academy in addition to their priorities with the first team. 

"It is always good to see young players rewarded for their efforts. All three academy players have had good exposure and experience over the last couple of years and this showed right away when they started to train with our first team," Fury FC Technical Director Phillip Dos Santos said. "They are hardworking and ambitious players who are now given a chance to show if they are made for the next level. The next month will be important for them, they will need to grow and mature very quickly but also show consistency and stability if they aspire to remain with the first team after the end of the season.”
