The San Antonio Scorpions will play an international friendly against three time Costa Rican champions Club Sport Cartaginés, the club announced Monday. The match will kickoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on June 27 at Toyota Field.
"Club Sport Cartaginés is a storied team in Costa Rica and has an impressive history of success with multiple championships," Scorpions President and General Manager Howard Cornfield said. "Their current squad is full of international experience - including players that have participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and FIFA World Cup - and we think this will be an exciting matchup for our fans to watch."
Cartaginés was founded in 1906 and is the oldest club in Costa Rica. They are based in Cartago, Costa Rica, and play in their country's top league, the Primera División.
