The San Antonio Scorpions host the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in a 2014 NASL Championship rematch

Following midweek Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers return to league play Saturday night against the defending NASL Champions, the San Antonio Scorpions. The Strikers travel to Toyota Field in San Antonio in a repeat of the 2014 NASL Championship Final.

Fort Lauderdale (2W-1D-4L, 7 points) head into the match following a 3-2 defeat to USL side Charleston Battery in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday. The Strikers are winless in their last three NASL matches and have been kept scoreless in league play since the 3-1 victory against Ottawa Fury FC on April 25.

San Antonio (2-1-4, 7) was also eliminated from the Cup following a 2-0 defeat to the Austin Aztex. In NASL action, the Scorpions are coming off a 3-0 defeat to the New York Cosmos that snapped a two-match win streak.

The two sides currently occupy ninth and 10th in the 11-team NASL Spring Season Standings, level with seven points.
