The Carolina RailHawks have signed Jamie Dell for the remainder of the 2015 NASL season. The 22-year-old attended high school in Chapel Hill, N.C., and graduated from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington last year. The addition of yet another locally-based player will help to further the tradition of home-grown players for the RailHawks.
“We are thrilled to have Jamie. He is a local player with strong ties to the community,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said. “He is a former RailHawks U-23 player with a bright future, who will have the opportunity to develop as a player and grow with the team. I look forward to seeing him on the field.”
Dell's high school soccer career was spent at Chapel Hill High School, where he thrived in his senior year by scoring 24 goals and picking up 16 assists. This brought his total up to 50 goals scored and 51 assists made during his high school career.
Dell went on to play in 28 matches for UNCW, where he would earn a total of eight goals and eight assists. His solid performances earned him a First-team All-CAA selection. Dell was part of the RailHawks' U-23 side for one year and has been rewarded for his hard work, talent, and ability by being brought up to the RailHawks first team.
