The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of Colombian-American midfielder Christian Blandon. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The signing is the first professional contract for the 22-year-old Creighton University product.

“Christian is a young, dynamic midfielder who has been on our radar for some time,” said Strikers General Manager Amaury Nunes. “He performed well at Creighton University and in the PDL, and we are happy to have him join us.”

Born in Cali, Colombia, Blandon moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Miami, where he played youth soccer and participated in U.S. Soccer’s Olympic Development Program.

During his college years, Blandon also played in the USL Premier Development League with VSI Tampa Bay and Ocala Stampede, helping the latter to a Southeastern Division Championship title.
