MIAMI, Fla. (Sept 25, 2012) - San Antonio Scorpions goalkeeper Daryl Sattler has earned the 2012 NASL Golden Glove award, given annually to the goalkeeper with the best goals-against-average (GAA) during the regular season (minimum 1,350 minutes played).  Sattler finished the season with a 0.79 GAA while logging 2,151 minutes for the NASL Regular Season Champions.

Sattler earned 13 shutouts during the 2012 season, and posted a 13-6-5 (W-T-L) record in his 24 starts.  The Memphis, Tennessee, native played the previous two seasons with Tampa Bay, starting a total of 28 games for that club.

Sattler said "I would like to thank my teammates and coaches as well as the organization and the city of San Antonio for their amazing support. It's an honor to receive this award and I will proudly share it with the boys since this really is a team award."

Scorpions Head Coach Tim Hankinson remarked "Daryl's performance kept us in many games this year and that strength came as a leader, guiding an outstanding defensive effort as a team this season.”

Last season Montreal Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush won the award with a 0.76 GAA.  Bush moved this season Major League Soccer with the Impact.

Sattler’s former Tampa Bay teammate Jeff Attinella finished second in the league with a 1.06 GAA followed closely by Puerto Rico Islanders net-minder Richard Martin who recorded a 1.07 GAA.
