Azteca Atlanta Signs on as TV Partner

Azteca Atlanta (WUVM) has partnered with the Atlanta Silverbacks for the 2012 season, becoming the team’s official Spanish-language TV partner, the club announced today.

Each Silverbacks home game during the 2012 season will air locally on Azteca Atlanta, with a 30-minute pregame show also being included in the broadcast. The games will be shown via tape-delay on Sunday mornings, and pregame coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m. All games will air from 11 a.m.-1 p.m, preceding Azteca America network coverage of Mexican professional soccer.

“We’re tremendously excited to have Azteca Atlanta as our Spanish-language television broadcast partner,” said Silverbacks President Michael Oki. “We look forward to working with them on many levels, and providing in-depth soccer coverage to our fans in the local Hispanic community.”

Azteca Atlanta is part of a large network of Azteca America television stations, covering nearly 90% of the U.S. Hispanic market. The Silverbacks, entering their second year as a member of the North American Soccer League, are one of three teams in the league that will have all of their 2012 home games televised.

The Atlanta Silverbacks open the 2012 NASL season on April 7 against the San Antonio Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.
