The Fort Lauderdale Strikers aim to lock-up their first NASL postseason berth since 2012 when they take on visiting Ottawa Fury FC at Lockhart Stadium.  The Strikers, who are currently fourth in the NASL Combined Table (Spring/Fall), are coming off a 1-0 home win over FC Edmonton last Saturday, while the Fury dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Indy Eleven this past Sunday.  Fort Lauderdale has won the two previous encounters against Ottawa this year.  The last meeting took place on August 9, when goals from forwards Darnell King and Fafà Picault gave the Strikers a 2-1 road victory at TD Place.

Coaches quotes:

“Our team has worked very hard to put ourselves in this position, particularly during the final portion of the season.  We all realize the importance of this game.  We are very fortunate to have a healthy group of players that play unselfishly and work hard for each other.  They are a confident group with respect for all of the teams that we face.  Every game presents a new challenge for us, and I'm sure that our team will be focused and ready to face Ottawa on Saturday night.” – Strikers coach Günter Kronsteiner

“We have a group that as a lot of quality but we also need to be more consistent. I strongly believe that we could give a good answer against a very motivated Fort Lauderdale squad. We will need to be strong mentally if we are going to win there.” – Fury FC coach Marc Dos Santos
