The third and last game for this year’s Florida Derby has the Tampa Bay Rowdies welcome the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Al Lang Stadium at the NASL’s ‘Match of the Week’ on ESPN3.  Along with the race for The Championship, the two Florida sides are also competing for the annual Coastal Cup with the Rowdies having won the last four during the NASL’s modern era. Coaches quotes:

“I'm really looking forward to hosting our normal rivalry game against Fort Lauderdale. The added importance from our perspective is that we need to get back to winning ways now because we are quickly running out of games which with to accrue a reasonable total of points. Every point is vital. More than anything, I would like to think we can get the right result for our fans to give them some excitement as we move to the closing part of the season." – Rowdies coach Ricky Hill

“With only six games remaining, every game is obviously very important.  However, this match against Tampa Bay and our two remaining games against Carolina are the most crucial games.  These games will go a long way towards determining the final spot in The Championship.  Our team understands this and will be ready for this challenge on Saturday night.” – Strikers coach Günter Kronsteiner
