Directions to HS/MS soccer venues for the 2003 Spring Season

Field directions that were changed for the 2003 Season are Highlighted.
 

  • Ardmore, 30285 Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore AL

    • Route 1:  Hwy. #53(Jordan Lane) north (about 20 miles north of Mastin Lake intersection); turn left at first traffic light onto Hwy. #251. School is about 3 blocks on right.

    • Route 2:  I-65 to Route 53 exit, turn right (East).  Once you pass under railroad overpass, bear left, following the railroad.  School is about 1/8th  mile on right.

  • Arab HS Arab AYSO Soccer Field- 256-586-6026.

    • Games are NO longer being played at the football stadium.  The games are now played at the Arab SoccerPlex at Thompson Edison Park. Heading south on Highway 231 from Huntsville, turn right on 4th Ave. NW by Clayton Chevrolet. Take the first left (behind Clayton Chevrolet) and park is on the right.

  • Athens HS, Highway 31 N, Athens, AL

    • Take I-65 to exit 351, or Hwy. #72 (University Drive) from Huntsville; cross over I-65 and get in left-hand lane; left turn onto Hwy. #31 before bridge (do not cross bridge!). Stay on Hwy. #31. School is on right @ ~ 4th traffic light (Wal-Mart @ 1st light, funeral home @ 3rd light).

  • Athens MS, 601 S. Clinton St., Athens, AL

    • Route 1; Take I-65 to exit 351, or Hwy. #72 (University Drive) from Huntsville; cross over I-65 and cross over Hwy. 31; drive past Chevrolet dealership; at traffic light, bear right on Clinton St. (Buick dealership); school is on Clinton on the right.

    • Route 2; Take I-65 to exit 351, or Hwy. #72 (University Drive) from Huntsville; cross over I-65 and get in left-hand lane; left turn onto Hwy. #31 before bridge (do not cross bridge!). Go approx ½ mile and look for E Forrest St.  Take a left.  School is on left several blocks down, @ Clinton St.

  • Athens Bible (Athens Sportsplex) Highway 31N, Athens, AL

    • See directions to Athens HS, continue on 31N past high school.  Sportsplex is about another mile on the right.

  • Austin HS 1625 Danville Road SW, Decatur, AL

    • From Huntsville.  Take I565 to I65.  Turn South on I65 and go over the Tennessee River to the next exit - Exit 334 (Decatur/Priceville/Somerville). Turn right onto Hwy. 67 towards Decatur. Travel about 6 miles. Turn right at McDonald's Hamburgers onto Danville Rd. Go 4 blocks. The school is on the left.  Go past the school and turn left at the next street - Westmeade Street.  The soccer field will be on the left - behind the school. 

  • Bob Jones (Discovery Middle School), 1304 Hughes Road, Madison AL

    • From Highway 72, go to Hughes Road in Madison, turn south on Hughes Road.  Discovery is about 1.5 miles down on the right.
       From Highway 20, go to Hughes Road in Madison, turn north on Hughes Road.  Discovery is about 4 miles on the left. For the rest of the 2004 season, Bob Jones matches will be played at the new city stadium.

  • Bob Jones (Dublin Park) Madison AL

    • From Highway 20 (Madison Boulevard) , go to Hughes Road in Madison, turn north on Hughes Road.  At the 2nd light, turn east onto Old Madison Pike.  Dublin Park is on the north side about 0.3 miles down. For the rest of the 2004 season, Bob Jones matches will be played at the new city stadium.

  • Bradshaw Florence, AL

    • From Huntsville -  Take Highway 72 west through Athens to Florence.  From Hwy 72 (also Florence Blvd) turn north on Darby Drive - go 0.9 mi. and turn left onto Bradshaw Drive - go 0.4 mi. to Bradshaw High School.

    • From Decatur - go west on Highway 20 to the Quad Cities area.  Turn right (north) on 43 (through Muscle Shoals), and east on Highway 72 to Florence.  From Hwy 72 (also Florence Blvd) turn north on Darby Drive - go 0.9 mi. and turn left onto Bradshaw Drive - go 0.4 mi. to Bradshaw High School.

  • Brewer HS 59 Eva Road, Somerville (Florette)35670 256-778-8634

    • From I-65 at Priceville/Decatur take Highway 67 East about 9 miles.  After you pass the 4 way stop at the Highway 36 intersection go about 3-4 miles turn right at the red light - school is on the right-turn right - game to be played on football field.

  • Brookhaven MS, 1302 5th Avenue, SW, Decatur, AL

    • Cross river bridge going into Decatur (this is 6th Ave./Hwy. #31). Turn right onto 14th Street (round bank building); after the overpass, at 2nd traffic light, turn right onto 5th Avenue; go through 4-way stop; school is on right.

  • Buckhorn 4123 Winchester Road, New Market, AL

    • From I-565: Take I-565 (turns into Hwy 72) to Moores Mill Road. Turn North on Moores Mill Road. Go about 2 miles and turn East on Winchester Road. Go 7.5 miles. School is on the left.

    • From Parkway: Go to Winchester Road and turn East.

  • Butler HS (Goldsmith-Schiffman)

    • Take University Drive under Memorial Pkwy to where it turns into Pratt Avenue. Take Pratt Avenue past I-565 and across the railroad tracks. Go one block past the Chevron Station and turn left. Stadium is right in front of you.

  • Catholic (Richard Showers Center) 4600 Blue Springs Road, Huntsville AL 256-430-1760

    • Matches will be held at Richard Showers Center, 4600 Blue Springs Road.  This is 0.8 mile North of Mastin Lake Road on the right.  The soccer field is behind the building.

    • Alternate directions Take I-65 N to I-565 E. Take I-565 E to US Hwy 231/431 N. Proceed for approximately three miles. Turn Left on Mastin Lake Road (Sam’s Warehouse is on the SE corner). Blue Springs is the third traffic light. Turn right and proceed about one mile. Richard Showers Center is on right with field behind the center.

  • Cedar Ridge MS 2715 Danville Road SW, Decatur AL

    • I-65 to Exit 334 (Decatur/Priceville/Somerville). Turn onto Hwy. #67 towards Decatur. Travel ~6 miles. Turn West at McDonald's onto Danville Rd.  Go about ½ mile to Moadus Road & turn North.  School is on the left, field is behind the school.

  • Cullman HS 510 13th St. NE, Cullman, AL 256/734-3923

    • From I-65 South, take exit 310 (Cracker Barrel exit) Veer off to right, cross over Interstate, going East. Stay on this road (157 bypass). Cross Hwy 31, and at 2nd light, turn right. Look for a sign to the school at this intersection. This road dead ends in front of the school. Turn left on Stadium Drive.  The soccer field is in back of the tennis courts.

  • Decatur HS 1011 Prospect Drive, Decatur AL

    • Take I-565 to Hwy 20 to Hwy 31 South. Go across the bridge and go ~10 traffic lights. You will see Delano Park on the left, turn left onto Prospect Drive. Go through one red light, you will see the school on the right. Go down the paved road to the right before you get to the school; Ogle Stadium is behind the school.

  • Discovery MS

  • East Limestone 15641 East Limestone Rd., Athens, AL

    • Take Highway 72 West into Limestone County. Two miles after you enter the county, look for East Limestone Road and turn North. There is a sign for the school at the intersection. Go about two miles and look for the school on your left.

  • Erwin HS 532 23rd Ave., NW, Birmingham 35215

    • Take 65 South to interstate 59 North towards Gadsden, exit 134-Roebuck Parkway Exit-bottom of ramp turn left go about 4 mile to 23rd avenue-BP and Arby’s on left-turn left onto 23rd-school will be on the right (five blocks).

  • Fort Payne HS

    • Take Highway 72 from Huntsville to Scottsboro.  Take Highway 35 from Scottsboro, turn right onto I-59 North. Going North on I-59, exit 222 turn right, go to the second light and turn left at Jack's Hamburgers. Go to fourth light and turn right. Cross over the railroad tracks turn left at the school.  The stadium is behind the school.

  • Grissom HS 7901 Bailey Cove Road, Huntsville, AL

    • Soccer field is behind the school. From the Parkway, take Airport Road, which turns into Carl T Jones and eventually Bailey Cove Road.  From Bailey Cove Rd., turn East onto Blevins Gap (the street before the school) and turn right onto school campus.  Field is behind the school.

  • Guntersville HS  Carlisle Park Soccer Field, 4800 Hwy 431 S, Guntersville, AL 35976 - 205-582-3364

    • From Huntsville - Go 278 East. Take 69 North into Guntersville. Go left onto Sunset (Just after long causeway). 1/2 mile, field is on right. Turn right between Carlisle Park Middle School and the field.

    • From the South - Take 431 all the way through Boaz and Albertville. Once you come down the mountain into Guntersville, Guntersville High will be immediately to your left. This is not where they play. You stay on 431 and you will cross a causeway, at the end is a Holiday Inn on your right and a Favorite Market on your left. You go past these, and about 1/2 a mile past that, there is a McDonald's ahead of you, the road veers right and then back to the left again, just follow the road. You will stay on this road (Blount Avenue for around 4/5 of a mile until you hit your first stop-light, across the street to the left will be Oliver Tire, turn left at this light, you will go straight through the next stop-light, and about another mile will be a stop-light at the beginning of a 2 mile long causeway, turn right here (before the causeway) and about 3/10 of a mile on your right will be the fields.

  • Hartselle HS 904 South Sparkman Street. 256-773-5426

    • The high school plays at the Grady Long Park soccer field next to the Sparkman Civic Center. Go to the intersection of I-65 and Highway 36 and turn west toward Hartselle on Highway 36 (aka Main Street).  Follow Highway 36 into town, cross over railroad tracks, go through town, and turn left on Highway 31. Go to Nanceford Road and turn right. Turn left into the second parking lot. The field will be there on the southwest corner near the baseball fields. 

  • Hartselle MS (Walker Field)

    • The middle school plays at Walker Field.  To get to Walker Field go to the intersection of I-65 and Highway 36 and turn west toward Hartselle on Highway 36 (aka Main Street).  Follow Highway 36 into town and turn right on Hammitt Street.  Hammitt Street is just before you get to the railroad tracks.  Follow Hammitt Street and then turn right on Georgia Street.  Turn left on Mountain View Drive (aka Walker Street).  Walker Fields are on the right about half a block.

  • Hazel Green 14250 Highway 231-431, Hazel Green, AL

    • Drive north on Hwy. #231 through Meridianville to Hazel Green. Go through traffic light. School is on the right. Soccer field is behind the school.

  • Huntsville HS 2304 Billie Watkins SW, Huntsville, AL

    • Huntsville High will be playing the remainder of their games at the John Hunt Soccer Complex on Fields #3 and #4 this season.  Take Memorial Parkway to Airport Road. Go west to the second light and take a right, soccer fields will be on the left (across from stadium fields #1 & #2).

  • Johnson HS

    • Johnson High School will play their home games at Goldsmith Schiffman Field - Take University Drive under Memorial Pkwy to where it turns into Pratt Avenue. Take Pratt Avenue past I-565 and across the railroad tracks. Go one block past the Chevron Station and turn left. Stadium is right in front of you.

  • Lee HS 606 Forrest Circle, Huntsville  AL

    • Route 1; Take I-565 to Oakwood Ave (Exit 20).  Once off exit, go straight through light.  This is Lee High Drive.  Follow Lee High Drive to Forrest Circle, field is in back of complex beyond the baseball diamond.

    • Route 2; From Huntsville on Oakwood Ave, once you near I-565, turn North on Lee High Drive.   Follow Lee High Drive to Forrest Circle, field is in back of complex beyond the baseball diamond.

  • Liberty MS 281 Dock Murphy Dr., Madison, AL

    • I-565 to Exit #8; turn left on Hwy. 20, going past K-Mart; turn right onto County Line Road; go ~5 miles; when you pass Liberty Square subdivision (tennis courts), turn right on Dock Murphy Drive; Liberty School is at end of Dock Murphy Dr.   Can also be reached from Highway 72 to County Line Road.  About 1 mile south of Highway 72 and turn left on Dock Murphy.

  • Madison Academy 325 Slaughter Rd., Madison, AL

    • From East; I-565; to Exit #13 (Madison Blvd); go ~1 mile & turn right at traffic light onto Slaughter Road; cross railroad tracks; school entrance is on right.

    • From West; I-565; to Exit  #8 (Madison Blvd); Go over the overpass and head right on Madison Boulevard.  The 6th traffic light is Slaughter Road, turn left; cross railroad tracks; school entrance is on right.

  • Madison City Schools Soccer Stadium

    • From the east, traveling west on I-565:
      Take Madison Blvd exit 13, continuing west 3.8 miles. After you pass Wal-Mart follow the brown "Stadium ==>" sign, turning right at the Ramada Inn onto Celtic Dr. The stadium is less than 1/2 mile on the left.

    • From the west, traveling east on I-565:
      Take Wal-Triana Hwy exit 8 and turn left (north). At the first light turn right on Madison Blvd. Travel approximately 0.5 mi and (Mapquest indicates a U-turn is required here) turn north at the Ramada Inn onto Celtic Dr. (There is most likely a brown "Stadium" sign in this easterly direction on Madison Blvd as well.) The stadium is less than 1/2 mile on the left.

  • Madison County 174 Brock Road, Gurley AL

    • At the new school: Take I-565 to where it turns into Hwy 72. Take Hwy 72 about 10 miles. School is on the left.

  • Mars Hill Bible School 698 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL 35630

    • Take 72 West to Cox Creek Parkway in Florence. (There will be a Kmart on the left and Lowe's/O'Charley's on the far left corner; its a big intersection). Turn right at this intersection. Go through several lights.  The mall will be on the left and a BestBuy, Linen's n Things, Target strip mall will be on the right. You will pass a Martin's on the right. Go thru the light at Martin's and the next light. Mars Hill will be about 1 mile on the right near the top of the hill. Turn into the school grounds and the soccer field is on the right on top of the hill. It takes about 45 - 50 minutes from I-65 at Athens.

  • Meridianville Middle School
            12975 Highway 231-431 N, Meridianville, AL

    • From Huntsville; drive north on Highway 231 through Meridianville.
      The school is on the left just past Flint River Baptist Church. The soccer field is located behind the school.

  • Monrovia 1216 Jeff Road,  Huntsville AL

    • Go to Madison on Highway 72, at the west end of Madison is Jeff Road / Slaughter Road.  Go North on Jeff Road.  You will pass Monrovia Elementary first, then Monrovia Middle is further up the road on the left.  Field is beside the school.

  • Muscle Shoals

    • From Decatur, go west on Highway 20 - turn right (north) on Hwy 43 (at Hardees) - turn right on Avalon Avenue - follow Avalon Avenue to Muscle Shoals High School.

  • New Hope Middle School and High School
     5300 Main Drive, New Hope, AL

    • Take US-431 South out of Huntsville to New Hope. Turn left at Main Drive (there is a traffic signal and a Shell Station on the corner) (its approximately 16 miles from Huntsville Hospital). The school is approximately 1.4 miles on the right down Main Drive. Soccer matches are at the football stadium behind the school.

  • Oak Park MS 1218 16th Avenue SE, Decatur AL

    • Take I-565 to Hwy 20 to Hwy 31 South. Go across the bridge and go about 1.5 miles on 6th Avenue.  Turn left @ 8th Street, this street is the road to Point Mallard & is just before McDonalds.  Take 8th Street to 16th Avenue SE.  The school is on the corner of 16th Av & 8th St.

  • Pell City HS

    • Take I-65 South to Birmingham.  Turn left on I-20 toward Atlanta
      Take Exit 156 - Turn right on Hwy 78.  Pell City HS is a few miles on right

  • Priceville HS (Huskey Park)

    • Priceville is playing currently at Huskey Park in Somerville near Brewer High School.  From Huntsville take I-565 West towards Decatur.  Turn South on I-65 and cross over the Tennessee River.  Get off at the Decatur exit.  Turn left (East) away from Decatur.  Go approximately 14 miles and Huskey Park will be on your left. The soccer field is at the back of the park behind the softball and baseball fields.    

  • Randolph HS & MS (Drake Road) 1005 Drake Avenue, Huntsville AL

    • Take Memorial Pkwy to Drake Ave. Turn east on Drake. The school is about 3 miles on the left.

  • Randolph HS & MS (Garth Road) 4900 block Garth Road SE,  Huntsville AL

    • Route 1:  Go to Randolph School.  Go past the school about 1/8th  mile to Garth Road, go right on Garth, field is about ½ mile ahead on left across from Jones Valley Elem. School.

    • Route 2:  From the Parkway, take Airport road, which turns into Carl T Jones Drive.  Just past the huge church (Mayfair) on left is Garth Road.  Turn north on Garth, field is about ¾ mile ahead on right across from Jones Valley Elem. School.

  • Sparkman HS 2616 Jeff Road, Harvest AL

    • Take I-565 to Rideout Road North. Take Rideout Road to the end (Hwy 53). Turn left on hwy 53. Go about 3 miles to Kelly Springs Road and turn Left. Go to the end of Kelly Springs Road (Jeff Road). Turn right on Jeff Road; the school is on the left. The field is behind the school.

  • Sparkman MS 2697 Carters Gin Road, Toney AL

    • Route 1: Take I-565 to Rideout Road North. Take Rideout Road to the end (Hwy 53). Turn left on Hwy 53. Go about 5 miles to Jeff Road. Bear right on Jeff Road, heading north for about 1-1/4 miles. Turn right on Carters Gin Road, heading east to Sparkman Middle School.

    • Route 2: Take University Drive to Jordan Lane, Go North about 8 miles to Jeff Road.  Bear right on Jeff Road, heading north for about 1-1/4 miles. Turn right on Carters Gin Road, heading east to Sparkman Middle School.

  • St. Bernard Preparatory School 101 St. Bernard Drive Southeast Cullman, Alabama 35055 (256) 739-6682

    •  Take I65 to Highway 278.  Go East on Highway 278 through Cullman.  St. Bernard will be on the right as you leave Cullman. Look for signs for St. Bernard and Ave Maria Grotto.

  • Westminster 1400 Evangel Drive, Huntsville, AL

    • Go west on University Drive about 2 miles from Memorial Parkway; across from UAH, turn north on Evangel Drive (at Taco Bell); go through 4-way stop to school's entrance.

    • From the East on University, Evangel Drive is just after you pass Sparkman Drive.
