Ramak Safi, a native of Urmia, Iran, is a defender who attended Jacksonville’s Englewood High School before playing college soccer at Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga., and transferring to Jacksonville University for two years … has played professionally with the NASL’s Carolina RailHawks as well as Real Maryland Monarchs, the Charlotte Eagles and the Jacksonville United FC in the NPSL … also coached youth soccer at Armada FC partner Jacksonville Football Club.

2011 - 2014: Returned home to Jacksonville where he began playing with local NPSL club Jacksonville United FC … helped lead the club to the 2011 NPSL National Championship along with fellow Armada FC teammates Tommy Krizanovic, Nurdin Hrustic and Tyler Williams.

2010: Signed first professional contract with the Carolina RailHawks after attending an open tryout … … was sent out on loan to USL side Charlotte Eagles in July and scored seven goals for the club … was loaned out again to Real Maryland Monarchs, where he made one appearance for the club before returning to Carolina.

2009: Went on trial with the New England Revolution.

College

Attended Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga., in 2005 … transferred to Jacksonville University where he played three more years … led JU in scoring with 10 goals in 21 appearances as a senior in 2008 and finished his collegiate career with 15 goals and five assists in 57 matches.

Youth

Played in his native Iran throughout his youth … relocated to Jacksonville in 2001.
