The San Francisco Deltas have added one of the winningest Brazilian players of all-time, Dagoberto Pelentier, who brings five Brazilian Série A titles to the City by the Bay. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, per club policy.

Dagoberto, 34, whose five domestic titles trail only Brazilian legend Pele’s six, will join the team following approval of his work visa. The midfielder/forward is also a product of the Brazilian national team youth system, where he played alongside future Seleção standouts Dani Alves, Fernandinho, Anderson, and William.

"Dagoberto will bring a lot of experience to our roster," Deltas coach Marc Dos Santos said. "He's a player who has won everywhere he has played. He has something different and will bring other type of solutions in the final third. I think he will need some time to adapt, but I’m confident that he will help after fitting in."

Dagoberto scored 93 goals during his 14-year domestic career, winning back-to-back league titles with Cruzeiro (2013, 2014) and Sao Paulo (2007, 2008) after helping Atlético Paranense to its only league title in his first year as a professional.

“I am so happy to be going to the San Francisco Deltas for another challenge in my life,” Dagoberto said. “I am very grateful to the club to trust my work and I am confident that we'll have a lot of success together.”

With Atlético, Dagoberto burst onto the scene with 45 goals in his 108 total appearances for the club. In 2003, he led Brazil with four goals in the U-20 South American Championship, scored three in the Pan American Games, and made four appearances during Brazil’s gold medal run in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.

In his first season with São Paulo, Dagoberto scored seven goals to help Tricolor to the 2007 Série A hardware and followed it up with six goals in the 2008 title campaign. In five seasons at São Paulo, Dagoberto racked up 35 scores in 140 total appearances.

After spending a year at Internacional (2012), he moved to Cruzeiro where he scored seven goals while helping the club to back-to-back Série A titles - the first time in a decade in which Raposa took home the hardware.

He is the fourth Brazilian player to sign with the Deltas in their inaugural season, joining Pablo Dyego, Reiner Ferreira, and Jackson. With Dagoberto’s addition, the Deltas have now reached the maximum number of foreign players on the roster with seven.
