All 2015 Fort Lauderdale Strikers matches will be telecast live on SFL-TV, starting with the August 2 match at the New York Cosmos, the club announced Tuesday.
SFL-TV will broadcast 16 North American Soccer League Fall Season games – both home and away – and feature play-by-play man Bruce Silverman and color commentator Ed Boreth. Match telecasts will remain available on ESPN3 with the exception of select NASL Wednesday Night Soccer on ONE World Sports matches.
"We are thrilled to team up with SFL-TV as the official television broadcast partner of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers,” Strikers Managing Partner Ricardo Geromel said. “The Fort Lauderdale-based station is very active in our community and will help us attract new fans. While we certainly want Strikers fans to continue to come out to Lockhart Stadium and enjoy professional soccer in person, it allows fans to watch every minute of action on their TVs.”
The HD telecasts will include a seven-minute pregame show before kickoff. SFL-TV will produce Strikers-specific content that will run on the station, including features with the station’s street team. The match broadcasts will be dubbed Strikers Fútbol Live, in a nod to the call letters – SFL-TV.
“We are proud to be the exclusive television broadcast partner for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers,” SFL-TV Vice President / Station Manager Marilyn Hansen said. “Soccer is part of a rich, diverse tradition in the South Florida community and it is a perfect fit for SFL-TV.”
