Nico Zaldana signed with Armada FC on Jan. 15, 2015 ... making professional debut after training at several highly-regarded academies in United States and Europe ... did not play in NASL Spring or Fall Seasons but played extensively in preseason and earned start and captain armband against Richmond Kickers on May 27 in US Open Cup.

Youth: Began playing soccer when he was four-years-old … played in various clubs around different leagues in Central and South Florida … trained at the world-renowned AFC Ajax youth academy in Amsterdam at age nine … to train with another Dutch side, Feyenoord in Rotterdam, Holland, at age 10, where he earned several awards, including Player of the Tournament in 2007… trained for with the FC Dallas Academy and at Orlando City SC’s Academy before returning to Europe … before coming to Jacksonville, Zaldana spent several months in the academy at renowned Spanish side Malaga FC … has been training with the Armada FC’s Development Squad since August.

Personal: Born May 7, 1996, in Washington, D.C., to Gustavo (father) and Julie (mother) Zaldana … has a brother, Stephen (28) and sister, Alexis (15) … favorite soccer player is FC Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta.
