A native of Jena, a city in eastern Germany renowned for its links to some of the most recognizable names in European history. The veteran goalkeeper plied his trade and proved his worth throughout more than a decade of competitive action in Germany, Norway, and, more recently, the United States.  The bulk of his career to date has been spent in his home nation, where Nicht ascended the ranks from lower-division standout to Bundesliga starter in three short years.  The second season of that mercurial rise, an especially dominant 2005-06 campaign with second-tier side Alemannia Aachen, saw him help earn the club promotion and membership in the Bundesliga for the first time in 36 years.

After a later stint with tradition-rich Norwegian side Viking FK, Nicht briefly returned to Germany’s second division but ultimately decided to make the leap across the ocean and join the Rochester Rhinos, one of the flagship clubs of the USL PRO. His impact in upstate New York was immediate; he not only set a North America record by beginning his stay with six consecutive shutouts, but also garnered the 2012 USL PRO Goalkeeper of the Year award for sustained, stellar efforts throughout the season.

Did not conceded a goal for 263 minutes spanning four Bundesliga 2 matches in late April and early May... Played each minute of the first team's final five fixtures, a stretch that included three wins.

2003-04: Signed for  FC Nürnberg in the offseason, made strides as the reserve squad keeper in the Oberliga Bayern, one of the premier leagues in Bavaria... marked his Nürnberg debut by blanking Regensburg II in a 0-0 stalemate...Made 26 appearances while improving his GAA by more than three tenths over the previous season.
