BIO: De Guzman is a 5'7 midfielder that came to the Nation’s Capital after spending the 2013-14 season with Skoda Xanthi in the Greek Superleague. The Toronto, ON native became the first-ever Canadian to play in La Liga where he featured in 97 contests for Deportivo La Coruna from 2005-2009. Prior to his arrival in Spain, de Guzman spent three seasons in the Bundesliga making 78 appearances with Hannover 96. From 2009-2012 de Guzman featured in 77 MLS matches with three of those four seasons spent at Toronto FC where he became the first-ever Canadian designated player in MLS history.

On March 9, 2016, de Guzman was named second captain in club’s history. Captain Canada and now captain Fury returns to Ottawa following a season where he featured in 16 matches (including one post-season match) playing a vital role in the success of Ottawa’s midfield while also serving as a valuable veteran for his teammates including Canadian U23 international Mauro Eustaquio.

In November 2015, de Guzman became the most capped player in Canadian Men’s National Team history when he made his 85th appearance for his country in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Honduras.
