Mulligan is a defender/midfielder from Medford, N.Y., who joined the Cosmos after playing at St. John’s University from 2009-2013. He made his professional debut on Oct. 25, 2014 at home vs. the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Starting at right back, Mulligan went the full 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw. On December 19, 2014 the club announced that it had agreed to an extension with Mulligan for the 2015 season.

He spent the beginning of the 2016 season on loan to Swope Park Rangers, making 17 appearances (16 starts) during their inaugural United Soccer League (USL) season, logging 1,432 minutes on the pitch.

Mulligan re-signed with the Cosmos in Jan. 2017.

Mulligan finished his Red Storm career by earning both third team NSCAA All-Northeast Region accolades and second team All-BIG EAST honors. In his senior year, Mulligan served as the Red Storm’s team captain and helped lead St. John's to the 2013 NCAA Tournament Second Round.

“For any kid growing up it’s a dream to play for their local team,” said Mulligan. “As a New Yorker, I’m thrilled to be playing for a team with such a revered history.”

Mulligan was also the first St. John's player to earn NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-America honors since 2008. Over the course of his collegiate career, Mulligan appeared in all 80 games of his four seasons for the Red Storm, including 66 starts. The midfielder totaled eight goals, three game-winners, and nine assists for 25 points.

PROFESSIONAL

2017: Re-signed with the Cosmos in Jan. 2017.

2016: Returned to the Cosmos in July 2016 after a loan stint with Swope Park Rangers … Made 12 starts in 14 appearances for the Cosmos … Logged 1108 minutes.

2015: Made three starts in four appearances for the Cosmos…Logged 297 minutes at outside back.

2014: Made his professional and Cosmos debut on Oct. 25 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies...Also appeared in the Fall Season finale against the San Antonio Scorpions.
