The 21-year-old West Linn, Ore. native comes to Oklahoma City as a rookie in professional soccer. The defender spent the past four years playing NCAA soccer at the University of Portland, where he was named to the West Coast Conference All-Conference Team for four consecutive seasons. He also played with the Portland Timbers Under 23s.

His great grandfather Hudson Hellmich ran track and played baseball at the University of Illinois in the 1920s and coached track and baseball at Washington University. His great grandfather Herbert Rhoads played football at Wheaton and was a pitcher in the Chicago Cubs farm system in the 1920s.
