Daniel Mendes joined United on loan from Kalmar FF of the Allsvenskan (Swedish Premier League), before the 2014 season. Mendes then extended his stay by signing a contract with Minnesota during the 2014 Fall Season. He began his career with Botafogo in Brazil, playing two seasons with current teammate Tiago Calvano.

2015: Mendes was once again and offensive threat for Minnesota. His six goals were all crucial ones for United, scoring three game-winners, and two in stoppage time. He also provided two assists and made the Team of the Week twice.

2014: Mendes joined United on loan before the 2014 season. He then signed a permanent deal later in the season, during which he tallied nine goals and an assist.

2006-2014: Mendes played for several teams in Sweden, most notably Kalmar FF as well as AIK and Degerfors IF.

2003-2005: Taking his talents around the world, Mendes first went to Sweden to play for Kalmar FF, where he would eventually return to in 2009. He also played in South Korea for Ulsan Hyundai and in Colombia for Atlético Nacional.

1997-2003: To start his senior career, Mendes joined Brazilian side Botafogo after spending his youth playing with Palmeiras, Corinthians, and Juventus.
