TEAM OF THE WEEK | Fall Season Week 2

Abdoulaye Diakité and Dustin Corea of FC Edmonton as well as North Carolina's Steven Miller starred in Week 2

Week 2 of the Fall Season had plenty of thrilling moments as FC Edmonton and North Carolina FC both scored three goals apiece in road victories. Abdoulaye Diakité and Dustin Corea shined for the Eddies, while Steven Miller was the catalyst in North Carolina's win. The San Francisco Deltas and Puerto Rico FC also earned three points and saw several players earn spots on the latest Team of the Week.

Follow below for the full Team of the Week from the latest round of NASL action: 

GK: Romuald Peiser (San Francisco Deltas) – The veteran made three saves, including one from point-blank range on New York Cosmos forward Eugene Starikov in a 2-1 win.

DEF: Steven Miller (North Carolina FC) – The fullback had a pair of assists as North Carolina FC defeated Miami FC, 3-2. He also won five duels and both of his tackle attempts.

DEF: Abdoulaye Diakité (FC Edmonton) – He put in a crucial shift at the back, making 15 clearances and winning seven duels in his club’s 3-1 win over Indy Eleven. His defensive effort also netted him Player of the Week honors.

DEF: Albert Watson (FC Edmonton) – The center back scored in the Eddies’ win and also made 10 clearances and five interceptions.

DEF: Patrick Hopkins (San Francisco Deltas) – The defender scored his first goal for the club in the win over the Cosmos. He also made six clearances and five interceptions.

MID: Dustin Corea (FC Edmonton) – The Salvadoran international scored a pair of goals in the win over Indy Eleven.

MID: James Marcelin (North Carolina FC) – The defensive midfielder helped slow down Miami, making three clearances and two interceptions as well as winning five duels and two tackles. The Haitian international also completed 32 of his 33 passing attempts and created one chance.

MID: Ben Fisk (FC Edmonton) – The Canadian international was active all game long, nearly scoring a goal of his own and creating five chances. He also earned an assist when his corner kick found the head of Albert Watson.

MID: Giuseppe Gentile (Puerto Rico FC) – He put in a dynamic shift down the wing and set up the lone goal of the game in Puerto Rico’s 11-0 win over Jacksonville Armada FC.

FWD: Conor Doyle (Puerto Rico FC) – The forward finished teammate Giuseppe Gentile’s cross for the eventual game-winner against Jacksonville.

FWD: Tom Heinemann (San Francisco Deltas) – He scored the game-winning goal in the Deltas’ win and was a constant threat during his 90 minutes.
