Players from Indy, Miami, and New York led the way in July

In the month of July, Miami FC claimed its first peice of silverwar with the Spring Season title, while Indy Eleven rekindled the form that saw the club reach The Championship Final. The New York Cosmos also received key performances in the midfield during the slate of games in July. Players from all three sides were heavily rewarded in the latest Team of the Month.

GK: Jon Busch (Indy Eleven) – The veteran shot-stopper led the NASL in saves in July with 24, including a seven-save performance in the opening weekend of the Fall Season. He also had an 88.46 percent save percentage as Indy didn’t lose a game in July.

DEF: Marco Franco (Indy Eleven) – The fullback made an NASL-leading five blocks in July and also made 10 clearances and six interceptions. He also won 20 duels as well as seven tackles. Franco also contributed an assist.  

DEF: Phanuel Kavitaa (Puerto Rico FC) – He was tied for second in the league during the recent month in clearances with 23 and also won nine tackles as well as 18 duels. The center back also scored a goal in July.

DEF: Nemanja Vukovic (Indy Eleven) – He scored a goal and an assist during the month and was a key contributor in defense as well. He won 19 duels and made 10 clearances and made eight interceptions during the month.

DEF: Ryan Richter (New York Cosmos) – The fullback won 25 duels and seven tackles as well as making 12 clearances and seven interceptions. He also created seven chances during action in July.

MID: Dylan Mares (Miami FC) – The midfielder scored two goals and had one assist in the month of July. He also finished with a passing accuracy of 91.03 percent.

MID: Eric Calvillo (New York Cosmos) – The U.S. youth international scored three times and added an assist in July. He also had a passing accuracy of 94. 55 percent. His efforts also earned him NASL Player of the Month.

MID: Emmanuel Ledesma (New York Cosmos) – He scored a pair of goals and was tied for a league-leading 15 chances created during the month.

FWD: Stéfano Pinho (Miami FC) – The forward scored four goals during the recent month’s action.

FWD: Tom Heinemann (San Francisco Deltas) – He scored three times for the Deltas over the last month.

FWD: Derek Gebhard (Jacksonville Armada FC) – The young forward scored twice in July for Jacksonville and also drew the penalty that helped lead to a 1-1 draw to open the Fall Season.
