San Francicso Deltas midfielder Cristian Portilla made a key impact in the recent draw against Indy Eleven. He followed up a strong month with another goal for the club, while being heavily involved in the club moving forward with the ball.

Here are some key stats ahead of the weekend's matchups:

On The Ball

Portilla scored from a corner kick to help San Francio come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Indy Eleven. During the contest, the veteran touched the ball 106 times. It was the fourth most touches by a single player in a game this year. North Carolina FC’s Austin da Luz had 111 touches in a 2-1 loss to the Deltas.

Miami FC defender Hunter Freeman currently has gotten more touches than any other player in the 2017 season with a total of 796.

On The Goals

Through Week 11 and one game in Week 12, there has been a total of 96 goals. Miami FC is leading the way with 16 as the club has a five-point lead in the Spring Season Standings. Of the goals scored, 39 of them have come from the right foot, 35 have come with a left foot, and 20 of them have been scored on a header. Two of the goals have been own goals. The play that has led to the goes breaks down as 68 from open play, nine from corners and free kicks, and three directly into the net from a free kick.

So far in the 2017, there has certainly been plenty of late-game dramatics. The most goals (22) have been scored in the final 15 minutes of games. Between 16 and 30 minutes as well as 61 and 75 minutes there has been 20 goals scored apiece. The Deltas, in particular, have been a part of thrilling finishes to games. The club has scored six times, the most in the NASL, during the final stretch of games.

Closing In On The Century Mark

Three players in the same game this weekend could hit the century mark in regular-season appearances in the NASL. The Cosmos’ Carlos Mendes and Ayoze as well as North Carolina FC’s Austin da Luz all have 99 appearances right now. The Cosmos welcome North Carolina to MCU Park on Saturday afternoon.
