Week 6 is around the corner as the NASL Spring Season moves past the quarter mark. Through the first five weeks of the year, six players are tied for the most goals with two, but North Carolina FC forward Matt Fondy has been more accurate with his shooting than any other player.

Key stats heading into Week 6 can be found below:

Hitting The Target

Fondy is tied for the league lead in goals, hitting the target at a better rate than anyone else in the NASL with 10-plus shots. His shooting accuracy is 83.33 percent on his 15 shots this season, Goals may be coming soon for Miami FC forward Jaime Chavez. He has come close so far this season, hitting the target on all five of his attempts this season.

Right Place, Right Time

New York Cosmos goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer is tied for the league lead in saves (16), but the defenders in front of him have been making key interventions as well. The Cosmos have the most blocks (19) through Week 5. Kenyan international David Ochieng is tied with Albert Watson for most by a player (5).

On The Ball

Miami FC has created the most chances (53) and has taken the most shots (63), so it’s no surprise that they’ve held possession of the ball longer than any other club this year, clocking in with an average of 57.84 percent. Jacksonville Armada FC has the second most, following the message of coach Mark Lowry, with 54.26 percent. Indy Eleven (53.15) and surprising FC Edmonton (51.31) are the other sides that have held onto the ball more than 50 percent of the time on average.
