Prior to taking the field to start the 2017 season this weekend, Indy Eleven has taken off into new territory on the corporate partnerships front by welcoming Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other, as the “Official International Airline Partner” of Indiana’s Team.

As part of the agreement, Turkish Airlines will serve as the first jersey-back sponsor in Indy Eleven history, with the airline’s logo set to debut on the club’s kits starting this Saturday, when the “Boys in Blue” kick off their fourth season of play at the expansion San Francisco Deltas (10:00 p.m., broadcast live on Twitter.com/sfdeltas).

With today’s announcement, Turkish Airlines becomes Indy Eleven’s first corporate partner in the domestic or international airline categories in addition to the club’s first internationally-based corporate partner.

M. Ä°lker Aycı, Turkish Airlines’ Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee said: ‘’As Turkish Airlines network grows every day by offering more and more services, we are delighted to have this partnership with Indy Eleven. We truly believe sports has the ability to unite cultures and nations, therefore we are glad to be a part of this partnership.”

“The business of soccer continues to grow rapidly in the United States, and Indy Eleven is proud to be in cooperation with Turkish Airlines as the airline further establishes itself in America,” Indy Eleven owner Ersal Ozdemir said. “This partnership will expand the reach of Indy Eleven’s growing brand across the United States and the world.”

Voted as the “Best Airline in Europe” six years running by passenger survey organization Skytrax, Turkish Airlines provides more international service than any airline in the world, serving 296 destinations in 120 countries. Among that climbing number of markets served are nine U.S. cities, including nearby markets Chicago and Miami.

While Indy Eleven marks Turkish Airlines’ first foray into the American soccer sponsorship realm, the growing airline is no stranger to the United States market, having served as the presenting sponsor of FOX’s Super Bowl LI pre-game coverage in February and airing commercials during several premier sporting events including such global celebrities as Lionel Messi, Kobe Bryant and Morgan Freeman.

Turkish Airlines has been a frequent sponsor of soccer teams in Europe, especially in its native land where it serves as the Official Transport Partner of Turkey’s national football team and famous Turkish clubs Galatasaray, BeÅŸiktaÅŸ, Trabzonspor, Basaksehir, Bursaspor, and Konyaspor. The airline was also the Official Airline Partner of UEFA EURO 2016 held in France, a first in the tournament’s 56-year history.
