Miami FC has acquired defender Gabriel Farfán from Chiapas of Liga MX.

Farfán, a San Diego, California native, has spent significant time in both the U.S. and Mexico developing his skills.

He started his youth career with the prestigious IMG Soccer Academy before enrolling at Cal State Fullerton. After one year of college soccer, Farfán was signed to Club America’s youth system, where he played for two years.

In 2011, Farfán trialed with the MLS’s Philadelphia Union and one day later was in the starting lineup, making his professional debut. He would go on to make 51 appearances over three seasons for the Union before he was traded to Chivas USA.

Chivas USA would loan and eventually sell Farfán to Chiapas of Liga MX. He featured in 11 matches for Chiapas before being loaned out to the New York Cosmos, where he played four times during the 2016 Spring Season and scored one goal.
