The Carolina RailHawks announced Wednesday the signing of former DePaul University goalkeeper Macklin Robinson ahead of Sunday’s match against the New York Cosmos.

“Macklin is a good up-and-coming goalkeeper,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said. “I first saw him play during this year’s InfoSport Combine in Florida and I was really interested in him. He is a very technical goalkeeper, who is comfortable playing from the back line with his feet. He is a great addition to our team, and we feel that he has a bright future in the game.”

Robinson, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, started his college career at Ohio Dominican. During his time at Ohio Dominican, he led his team to back-to-back GLIAC Tournament Championship games, finishing in second place in 2012 and winning the regular season and tournament titles in 2013.

After two successful years with Ohio Dominican, Robinson transferred to DePaul University.

While at DePaul, he would go on to play 34 matches, recording 32 starts. At DePaul, he was not only named to the 2014–15 Big East All Academic team, but finished second in the Big East in saves and saves per game during the 2014 season.
